ABOUT RACHEL
“…training the mind is just as important as training the body.”
My training practice:
I work in New York City as a professional fitness coach. I see fitness as more than physical conditioning—it’s really training for the mind. Every rep, stretch, or breath is a chance to tune in, not just power through. Going slow builds control and body awareness. Paying attention to the breath steadies the mind. Working on speed sharpens agility. And doing reps? They’re reminders that you can handle one more. Because you trained for it.
What’s more important to me than repetition is having high body awareness. When you learn to use your muscles, core, and breath properly, you don’t just train harder—you move smarter. That awareness creates a body that’s more durable, adaptable, and resilient over time. The result isn’t just strength for today, but strength that lasts.
My therapy practice:
I am a licensed therapist and currently see a separate roster of people for what I call, “training,” but for the mind. I view the mind as a muscle that requires exercise. Left untrained, negative beliefs can compound and become louder. Through writing, vocalization, social connection, and movement, the mind gains flexibility and strength. Using cognitive-behavioral techniques, I guide clients in developing new beliefs—the “new muscle” that can stand against old, unhelpful patterns.
In both fitness and mental health, I emphasize slowing down, breathing, endurance, and recovery. Just as the body grows through stress and rest, the mind expands through application and letting go. Together, training body and mind creates a resilient human being: connected, adaptable, and fully present in life.
Rachel began her clinical work in a psychoanalytic clinic seeing patients with depression and anxiety.
